After an intense professional activity as a free lance, during which I developed strong competences in the administration of systems and networks, I founded an IT company, where I was the Technical Director. I then moved to the ITC department of an important insurance company (Lloyd Italico), part of a multinational group based in the UK (Royal & Sun Alliance), as a project leader and network administrator. In Bibop Research Int. Spa, cross media agency in Milano, I was the IT manager and I work on projects both internal and external.
In ECS Solutis since 2002 I am actively working as a Senior Project Manager, specializing in the business continuity and security fields in eterogeneous environment.

Description
I managed a BBS connected to the mainstream networks (OS2-Net, Fidonet, ECN, Net10 etc.)
I start working occasionally with some professional offices as a consultant and a programmer.

As a Project Manager I am in charge of the integration of ITC services and solutions at the main customers. I am responsible for the pre-sale phase, supporting the sales force, qualifying the solution and stating the price)
and of the post-sale phase as well, as long as the deployment lasts.
The activity is mainly focused on security and business continuity. My experience in the networking has allowed me to develop some original solutions in disaster recovery projects. A relevant part of my activity consists in consultancy (about 30%).
ECS Solutis is the ITC company of ECS group, fully owned by the biggest privately-held bank group in France (Société Générale)

As IT Manager I am in charge of the internal network (a fully integrated data/voice solution based on Lucent and Cisco devices), of the external links to the Internet and of the intranet. I managed directly the project from
the provisioning to the tuning.
I am in charge of the management of both internal and external systems (mainly based on Sun and IBM RISC/6000, including a cluster of H80 with AIX 4.3 and HACMP/ES), including the Linux based Intel servers.
I used both commercial (Lotus Domino 5 in a Linux environment) and Open Source Software (like OpenLDAP for the directory services, the apache web and application servers, Postfix and Cyrus as mail servers, etc.) .
I managed directly the deployment for the customers' systems. Among the customers: Intravisione, Virgin Music, Saati M&C, IED, 2008sms, some Mediaset artists, etc.).
I am in charge of DNS maintenace as a mainteiner for NIC (the italian register) and Bulkregister.
I manage the provisioning for the all ITC department and the internal deployment of software and clients.

Project Manager for the new data network between headquarters and agencies. I managed the initial idea, the provisioning and the deployment. I personally managed to implement a new and open way of communication
between HQ and agencies writing a Windows Service to manage FTP and mail. This alllowed to fully substitute the old legacy system based on a proprietary software).
Project Manager for the Intranet of the National Claims Offices (30).
Project Manager for the deployment of the new servers for the agencies (over 200 Windows NT Servers deplyed in unattended mode in less than 3 months).
Project Manager for the cabling of the 30 main agencies.
Project Manager for the new cabling of the HQ, with fiber optic backplane and level 3 switches.

I was involved in the project for a single management system (CA TNG Unicenter) and managed all the systems on the Internet (proxy, mail, and web server all based on Microsoft tools).

I managed all the system activities on IBM OS/2 and Windows NT platforms.
I managed all the authorizations and authentications systems for our customers (Cisco NAS, Allied Telesyn and IBM devices, RADIUS Servers) using IBM DB/2 with a web based interface that I personally wrote using
Lotus HTTPd Server, a few CGIs, Borland Delphi and IBM Net.Data).
I managed the deployment of networks and network services for our customers (mainly IBM OS/2 LAN Server, Novell Netware).
I personally managed the deployment of servers and software for our customers (mainly IBM DB/2, Equisys Zetafax, Microsoft Backoffice, IBM Sigla++, Lotus Notes/Domino).
I installed, configured and managed the main office automation tools and all the device for the remote connections to the CIS (i.e. Cube Internetworking Solutins, cis.it - ISDN and PSTN modem and router, Zyxel, Allied Telesyn and Cisco).

I worked for the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Society as a consultant, mainly developing the "Centro Servizi Nazionale" and "Centro Contabile" (two national offices for services and accounting) and offering advice to over 100 local branches. I was involved in the development of application and of networks.
I partecipate to the Italian OS/2 Team.
I wrote articles for "PC Magazine" on Internet, network fax and BBS topics.
I worked as a trainer on Office automation and Internetworking topics.
